Long Line Release Clips
The long line clips are used to attach your main line (usually a leader) securely to larger cable, such as a center line, green stick, down rigger or outrigger lines. We use them extensively to add a third line when needed to our outriggers or as down rigger stackers.   Below is a series of pictures that show how we use a #64 rubber band. First attach the rubber band as shown, but before you attach to the down rigger cable, wrap the rubber band around the mono and pull the clip through, securing the rubber band to your mono, then attach to your down rigger cable as shown. We use 200# power prow on our down riggers and these work great at slow speeds and through about 10 kts when offshore. This is a very simple device that will allow you to easily stick two or three lines on your down riggers, or add two or three lines off a single rigged outrigger.
