Reel Draggin' Tackle® has tested many spreader bars over the years. We've solicited input from professional mates and captains with years of knowledge and experience fishing for Tuna and other game fish around the world -the overwhelming opinions were to downsize and lighten up the tackle. Results = more strikes, more fish in the boat, and more fun fighting the fish. RDT Spreader Bars are very light weight. They are designed so that several can run from your outriggers at one time. When trolled properly, the bar will be inches above the water. Notice the squid action; our float system helps generate more action by keeping your squid bodies fully formed. The RDT Slammers have gone through several evolutions, the first generation had a light weight glass head and a single thin skirt. It was designed for spreader gars. The second generation Slammer added weight (3.6oz) and a superior glass head. These proved to be outstanding Stingers for Squid bars, squid chains or custom rigged solo or with birds, but a bit heavy for spreader bars. For 2009 RDT has further evolved the Slammer. We maintained the high quality glass head with reflective foil and large eyes embeded in the head. The 3rd generation Slammers weigh less than 2oz each making them an outstanding choice for RDT super slammer bars.

RDT Offshore anglers are always looking for an edge. We are often asked if this or that bar modification will result in more hookups or more frequent bites. Our tackle teams are trying new things every trip; they cover waters from the US north east, south, west coasts, Hawaii, South America and east/west coasts of Australia. Nearly all of our spreader bar modifications have come from these teams recomendations. The single most effective enhancement that any angler can have at hand is an add on Slammer Stinger. The RDT squid bars are rigged with either 5" or 7.5" squid. When the 10" Slammer Stinger is added the angler creats the traditional food-chain emulation; a small pod of squid that is fleeing a predator.
